Krabbe 1906/Jensen 1947

Framed collage consisting of two appropriated photographs of Greenlandic women from Ammassalik/Tasiilaq taken by Danish doctor, ornithologist, and photographer Th. N. Krabbe in 1906-08, an appropriated photograph of Pia Arke’s mother, Birgitte Justine Piparajik Arqe, taken by Danish telegraphist Sven Lund Jensen in Scoresbysund/Ittoqqortoormiit in 1947, and a map section of A. P. Olsen Land in East Greenland. The Danish inscription reads: “Krabbe 1906/Jensen 1947. To my dear friends Tine and Arne from Pia. P. Arke 2005”
