The Gant family moves to, Narssaq, South Greenland, in September after a short stay in Denmark.
The Gant family is on leave of absence in Denmark from April to October. Pia enrolls
in Marie Mørk’s Boarding School in Hillerød, northwest of Copenhagen, and stays there when the rest of the family goes back to Greenland.
Settles in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Enters The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen. Studies painting and photography under Professors Mogens Møller, Bjørn Nørgaard, and Per Bak Jensen until 1993.

• Ships her large pinhole camera obscura to Lønstrup Cliff, North Jutland, Denmark, to photograph the ocean view. The process is documented in Galleri 11, a 30 min. short television feature produced by DR.

Forms the ‘Society for Ethnographic Film Blunders’ with brother Erik Gant and friend Anders Jørgensen.
Travels to Scoresbysund/Ittoqqortoormiit to conduct research for the book work Scoresbysundhistorier. Fotografier, kolonisering og kortlægning (2003). With the help of different town members, Pia identifies w people and events in archival and private historical photographs. Exhibits the result in the local museum, Ittoqqortoormiit Kalersungaasiviat.
